Adept RAID Drive - Better than described
I have been on purpose studying purchasing a RAID drive in order to edit/store my HD kinsfolk home videos. I have had many hard drives in my time, and purchased the WD My Book Studio Print run II just prior to ordering this model, and had to return it immediately as it didn't operate as promised (daisy chaining cut speeds in half due in adequate power furnish, let alone the overall "cheapness" of the WD drive). This LaCie drive though, has has been reading/critique at 65-70MB/sec in Raid 1 Mode, no matter how many devices are attached (via FireWire 800). Very submissive to change RAID modes, there is no need to infect your computer with Adware (such as WD "Drive Superintendent"). As far as performance is concerned, the drive has gone beyond exceeding my expectations. The quad is very good looking, very well built, and fits perfectly next to any Aluminum Mac. Strong External RAID Hard Drive
I bought this persistence to replace a Maxtor 2-disk RAID drive that recently stopped working after one of the disks inferior. The RAID did it's job though - I was able to recover all the data from the good disk after I had to take apart the wall to remove it. This new drive has quite a few advantages over my old Maxtor. In addition to more disk duration, it has a fast eSATA interface, a cool "mixed" RAID mode that gives you one "dependable" partition and one "big" partition if you don't want to use the whole drive in "safe" (mirrored) mode, and removable drives so I don't have to take the whole factor apart (and replace the unit) if one of the drives fails. The "auto" power on/off technique is also very nice if you use the USB connection. The enclosure itself looks very nice and is built very solid (in a adroit way). Both the fan and the drives themselves (Hitachi in mine) are definitely on the noisy side at times, but I'm hoping the exceptionally airflow will help the drives last longer than the Maxtor...

The body doesn't feel intense, and the stream of air from the fan doesn't either, although I operate it in quite warm conditions. * Bundled with pro versions of congestion software for MacOS (Intego) and Windows (Genie). Gain hardware, bad instructions
I installed the motor myself and it has been meet fine during a month, but the installation was a pain since I'm not a PRO Gate installer. I'm taking off a big shot because the base is starting to rust already and here it doesn't even rain. Also there are no installation instructions, at most an overview of all the components and like a bird's eye view of the whole thing... I was in a family way... 1. open the box 2. check the bolts and screws.... adhere this to that... but I guess this is supposed to be installed by someone who does this for a living. Anyways the most obstinate part was installing the magnets so that the motor stops when it should. There is an error in the manual where it says about reversing the entryway direction, and that error costed me some time to figure out.Anyways... fair-minded wanted to let you guys know my experience. The guy who gives support is not very friendly, but did return on a timely manner.

Reliability in suspicions about
Not a big hornet's nest to install. Some of their hardware was a bit cheap so I had to build my own chain brackets. After six months it stopped working, about once a week I would have to go out and re-program the unusual control. It became worse over time and eventually stopped working all together. I ordered a new PSB (they call it "the mastermind") and installed it. Then I could not adjust the safety current limit. The gate would only move a few inches then adapt around. I had to get a second "brain" and install it. My gate is now working but I have a very low level of confidence that I will trade for another year without further issues. I could not find my original receipt so the manufacturer would not replace the "brain" under promise. As other people have stated, it started to rust right away (even though it seldom rains here) and the assemble quality is at best low.

A worthy well-performing switch
I recently purchased this exchange due to the lack of reliable consumer-grade unmanaged 16-port Gigabit switches. It was also listed on the Netgear ReadyNAS NV+ compatibility roll, which was the second reason I purchased this model. This model replaced a Netgear GS116, which itself worked pulverized until it decided to suddenly stop transmitting packets and required unplugging and replugging the power twine. The GS116 replaced a GS108 which worked flawlessly (and still does) for 3 years. I've been expanding my network since our domicile's network is more like a small business than a residence. The buyer of this switch should note that there are several versions of the GS716T floating about, a v1, v2, and 200 copy exist - and the v1 and v2 are being phased out for the 200 series according to the Netgear website.
